On November 8th The Fitzroy launched their Kickstarter campaign. Now almost 6 weeks later it has all come to an end and it looks like it’ll be a great Christmas for writer and director Andrew Harmer and producers James Heath and Liam Garvo.
Their goal was to raise at least sixty thousand pounds to fund the sci-fi black comedy. Set in a post-apocalyptic 1950s on a submarine this truly imaginative film clearly appealed to many as the support flooded in. Not only have they reached their goal but have passed it by an impressive twelve thousand one hundred and seventy-one pounds.
And the good news does not stop there, The Fitzroy has also been nominated for Project of the Week. The winner will get a digital distribution consultation from SnagFilms and also become a candidate for Project of the Month. Voting ends on Christmas Eve at 11am EST.
So well done to all the folks at The Fitzroy! We’ve got our gas masks at the ready here at The Reluctant Geek and look forward to seeing the film in the future.
